I am an urgent care/family med nurse. I understand waits and how things can back up. With all the being said I’ll never come back again. I was told when we got in the room there were two pts in front of my kid. We were waiting 40 minutes past our scheduled “appointment” time before we even got to the room. I was annoyed but it was okay because again I get it. 40 minutes later after the 2 pt notification we were told there was one more pt in front of us. How do you spend 40 minutes with one pt in an urgent care setting?  Additionally the collection of my kids swabs was crazy- carrying them out of the room out in the open in the tech’s hands with no identifiers or anything. The NP never asked me any questions beyond what pharmacy we wanted. She got a run down from the tech I’m sure but it’s just nice after waiting so long to have more than 3-5 mins with the practitioner. In the end we got antibiotics and I suppose that’s something but this was such a weird visit. Also the facility is pretty run down.

So thankful for this place avoid emergency room fees and wait times and don’t have to wait to be seen by primary care physican.  I’m almost afraid to leave a good review because then everyone will start going there and we won’t have our easy quick trips to the urgent care.

I literally pulled up, scanned the QR code on the window and checked in, walked in and was seen in less than 5 minutes. It was fantastic. We definitely needed an urgent care in dripping springs and this one was great. Everyone in the office was very friendly and actually had conversations with you. We will be back for any future urgent care needs that may arise!

Great discreet service, scheduled my visit and paid for for the test online not in Showed up at lab, checked in and was seen within minutes. Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Didn't have to wait for a visit to my PCP, and then get referral to lab.

Getting Tested for STDs in Leander, TX

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing, but it is particularly important for those who have multiple sexual partners, have had unprotected sex, or have shown symptoms of an STD. Regular testing is also crucial for individuals who use intravenous drugs, as this can increase the risk of certain STDs. According to the CDC, sexually active gay and bisexual men may benefit from more frequent testing.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a crucial part of maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no symptoms, but can still cause long-term health issues if left untreated. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of complications and preventing the spread to others. According to the CDC, untreated STDs can lead to severe health problems such as infertility, cancer, and organ damage.

Std testing options in Leander, TX:

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also offer STD testing. If you have a long-standing relationship with a provider, this may be a comfortable and convenient option for you. Remember to be honest about your sexual history to ensure appropriate testing.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often provide free or low-cost STD testing. These centers can be a valuable resource for those without insurance or with limited financial means.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits provide a private and convenient option for STD testing. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.

Leander, located in Williamson County, TX, has seen a rise in STD cases in recent years, mirroring national trends. While specific data for Leander is not readily available, Williamson County reported a significant increase in chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis cases in recent years, according to the CDC. Compared to nearby counties such as Hill County and Dallas County, Williamson County has a lower STD rate, but the upward trend is a cause for concern.

Risk factors related to STDs in Leander

Several factors could be contributing to the rise in STDs in Leander. These include increased testing, which leads to more cases being identified, and changes in sexual behavior, such as having multiple partners or not using condoms consistently. Additionally, socioeconomic factors such as poverty and lack of access to healthcare can also contribute to higher STD rates. It's crucial to be aware of these risk factors and take steps to protect your sexual health, such as getting tested regularly and practicing safe sex.
