I was experiencing flu-like symptoms at the start of this week. Setting up an appointment online and completing the paperwork ahead of time was easy. When I arrived, I had no wait. The receptionist was friendly. The APRN, Max, took good care of me while I was there and prescribed a medication for me. I recommend this provider to anyone seeking medical care.

our family prefers premier health next to dlm.  it’s usually a very short wait.  the front office staff are friendly and efficient.  the pay we’ve seen a few times (melissa?) was knowledgeable and has great bedside manner.  my wife recently had a very sore eye. melissa used 2 different techniques to find the problem.

I received texts prior to coming in confirming my appointment and the a text to check in when i arrived. Heidi took my insurance card and ID the saw me to a room. She took thorough history of symptoms, and check with Melissa APRN to see whst tests to run! Heidi explained test and how it would go and length of time it would take. Melissa was friendly took thorough history and explained all the tests she would run and how long results would take. In mean time she prescribed medications and informed me when test results would likely be back. Melissa also included what OTC remedies I could use for symptoms. Overall a great experience especially when I was feeling so awful. Great job highly recommend to others in this community! Thank you!.

Appt was at 10:40. I walked in, was immediately greated by a very friendly nurse who escorted me to an exam room. She entered information about my illness and insurance into the computer and processed my co-pay. Another nurse took my temp, blood pressure, pulse and oxygen level. Very soon after, the doctor came in to discuss my symptoms and examed my ears, nose, throat and breathing. She discussed medicine options to decide best approach for me to proceed. She ordered prescriptions from my chosen pharmacy and sent me on my way. It was my best overall experience with seing a physician. No delays in waiting room or exam room. Fast friendly service that involved my thoughts on the decision on the treatment chosen!

Recent Blood Test Reviews (20)

I had a wonderful experience here! The staff are friendly and caring, the facility is very clean and I had virtually no wait time. Crissa in the lab did an excellent job on my blood draw which is usually a frustrating experience for me. She got it in the first try, quick and painless!

We had to see a different doctor since ours did not work on Monday. I’m glad we got on right away however my child was given a Covid test and she was screaming and crying. I know this is necessary but now my child’s nose is hurting and there was some blood. Is this necessary to go up the nose that far where the child was screaming and crying?

- Verified patient on 8/19

The staff were amazing! Because of a past history of allergies, I was asked to stay for 30 instead of 15 minutes following my J&J vaccine. After 20 minutes I was starting to feel off, and they were so thorough and quick with care. They were genuinely concerned and caring. We ruled it to be low blood sugar (my fault for forgetting to eat lunch, thus making it about 8ish hours since my last meal). They were so great and I felt safe, cared for and diligently watched.

The woman who drew my blood was nice, funny, kind, and great at her job. The facility was clean and nice. I was in and out in a short amount of time. I would definitely return here next time I have blood work I need done.

- Verified patient on 4/5

The person would took my blood was Amazing.!!!! I am a very difficult person to get blood from and she listened to me when I told her the area that usually successful. She didn’t try the “I know best” approach which usually ends up with me enduring multiple sticks which never work. She friendly and caring!! She was a one and done phlebotomist and I couldn’t be happier since I have been terrified of needles since I was a small girl.

- Verified patient on 11/16

Starting with the receptionist, she was super friendly and kind. I didn't have my lab order but she willingly looked it up for me. The phlebotomist was also very friendly and upbeat, quite efficient with the blood draw. I walked out thinking what a positive experience that was, and it's due to the great staff. Thanks!

Had blood work done there for the second time . No wait ,in and out. friendly as can be, all my info in system so no going over and over and over things . They know me! The best is getting blood taken there is painless ! TOTALLY PAINLESS . Thank you!

Jenni, who took care of me was an excellent Thanks both as a person and a Healthcare provider. I am always afraid of drawing blood because my veins are deep seated. But Jenni knew her job and what she has do. She caused very little pain and was able to draw blood very easily. I wish I will have her next time. She is a great asset! Thanks

I took my son in he was in a lot of pain he was crying he had a bandage on his hand soaking up blood we get told to scan this QR code and go wait in the car. The wait was over 30 minutes. I think a child in need of medical attention should get medical attention faster! It is called Urgent Care!

I walked in without an appointment before 4 p.m. on 1.5.*** for a COVID swab test. The place was very busy, so I expected a long wait, but I was in & out within an hour. Kelvin administered the swab and informed me it might feel uncomfortable, but I didn't mind. It actually tickled. Less than 30 seconds on both nostrils. My eyes watered big time. No worries though. Then I met Dr. Mike who was very friendly & answered all my qsts. He asked if I was interested in the antibody test and I accepted. Maria, who was also her friendly, took my blood sample. Less than a min. and she was done. I definitely recommend this clinic! Thanx everyone! Happy New Year! Stay safe!

I had blood drawn at the Gates lab today and as always, I was taken very shortly after signing in. The staff are always friendly. The best part???: I hate blood draws, but these ladies consistently are able to do this so painlessly. I've had blood work done many times at many locations, and that's not always the case! Great job & much respect.

T nurses were very nice n did an EXCELLENT job at taking my blood. I have very small veins, n in t past, when I went other places to get my blood work done, they stabbed me so many times---IT HURT !!! Bt not w you guys !!! Thankyou so, SO much for everything.

I forgot to ask the name of the young lady who took care of my blood work today. She did an excellent job today. I did not feel any discomfort as she inserted the needle to draw two vials of blood from my left arm. I appreciate the painless service from her as a dedicated Compunet technician.

- Verified patient on 3/9

I visited the CompuNet in Troy on Main. I didn’t have an appointment, I was a walk in. No wait hardly at all! I would say from the time I checked in until I walked out was less than 15 minutes. Most importantly, i am not a fan of needles, the nurse that drawled my blood. Was amazing, I didn’t hardly feel a thing.

Would Not recommend this doctor!! Went in for infection post opt surgery. Felt like have infection, low grade fever once tynole exceeds its 6 hour mark. But, doctor said they don't do blood work or take urine for WBC, because they can't get results make fast enough. That is a flat out lie!! Because they did a fast urine test for me 3 months ago and gave me antibiotics!! Lazy doctor, made me go to ER, wait additional 6 hours for meds!!!! 8 days after spinal fusion!!! Very disappointed 😞

- Verified patient on 3/11

I was ask questions by staff in the waiting room. 1 other person ahead of me. No one finishing up a leaving finally the front desk person shouted out, "There are two people waiting out there." Flooring at parking lot edge of waiting room needs repair. My blood draw was painless, staff person was pleasant. When I pointed out hair pins on the floor staff responded with, " Someone must if had a bad hair day."

Honestly this was a great experience! The best part was how nice and extremely skilled Jasmine was in drawing blood. It normally takes at least three tries to find my vein and she found it in one. My hope would be I could have Jasmine draw my blood every time, she is awesome!!!

- Verified patient on 4/24

Very accommodating at check in. Wait time was very short. Blood technician was very kind. I am used to needles and I barely felt the stick. I am currently in a wheelchair so I might have presented a bit more of a challenge, but all went well.

- Verified patient on 6/18

Typically, everyone seems to have a lot of issues getting my veins. However, the girl who took my blood today did an incredible job and was able to get it on the first attempt. It was a very pleasant, pain-free experience, and I am grateful. After having a lot of painful experiences recently, I was very relieved to a wonderful experience.

Hannah O drew my blood. She is very, very good and it didn’t hurt at all. I am hard to stick but she is very skilled at what she does. I would definitely recommend to everyone I know to come to Compunet and ask for Hannah O.

About Blood Tests

Blood tests are used as valuable snapshots of your current overall health and can be an effective way of catching illness or disease early, or measuring how you are reacting to new or on-going treatment. There are a variety of types of blood work with most common tests being complete blood counts (CBC), complete and basic metabolic panels (CMP, BMP), thyroid panels, nutrient tests, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) tests.

Each of these blood tests are fairly common and can be performed in a variety of settings including testing labs, primary care offices, urgent care centers, and even retail clinics and some pharmacies. Solv even has clinic partners in the Fairborn-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait. The tests themselves take only a few minutes and usually are performed by a nurse or technician where they:

  1. Clean the area where they will draw blood from, usually your upper arm
  2. Tie a band to your upper arm to make your veins more visible
  3. Put a needle gently into a vein to draw blood into the attached tube
  4. Remove the needle, then the band from the vein when complete
  5. Cover the draw site with a bandage

Risks associated with blood work are very low, but could possibly include slight pain or discomfort at the draw site, dizziness or even fainting from blood loss, or vein puncture. It’s important to discuss any concerns you may have with your medical provider before the procedure begins.

Blood Test FAQs

  • Where can I get a blood test in Fairborn?

In general, blood tests are available at Fairborn-area medical labs, urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care doctor offices, and many local pharmacies. While walk-in appointments are typically available, booking a visit online will reduce your wait time and ensure you have your blood work results sooner.

  • How can I book a blood test in Fairborn?

Regardless of the kind of blood test you are seeking, Solv can help you book an appointment. Simply search for Fairborn-area labs and healthcare providers, filter by the test you want and find a top-rated blood testing location. Be sure to include “blood testing” as the reason for visit.

  • Where can I get blood work after hours in Fairborn?

Outside routine work hours, most Fairborn labs and primary care offices are closed, however, most of the area’s urgent care and retail clinics are open later than typical business hours and on weekends. Book an after-hours visit to get prompt, no-hassle care and get your blood test results faster.

  • Can I make a same-day appointment for blood work in Fairborn?

Same-day and next-day appointments for many blood tests can easily be booked directly through Solv. Simply search for Fairborn-area providers, find a lab or draw station, and book the most convenient time for you. Be sure to include “blood work” as your reason for visit.

  • How do I find the best labs for blood testing in Fairborn?

Solv gathers ratings, reviews, and other data on Fairborn-area labs and healthcare providers to ensure the providers meet our high standards. Search for blood work providers, see what previous patients think, and book an appointment with a top-rated lab or clinic today!

  • Who should get a blood test?

Blood tests provide a valuable look at your overall health and blood work should be done at least once a year. They offer a great way to catch illness or disease early on, or see how you are progressing with on-going treatment. Your doctor or healthcare provider typically orders blood tests for you during an annual physical or as necessary for a specific diagnosis. It’s possible to order your own blood tests without a doctor, particularly for things like STD tests or hemoglobin A1c tests.

  • Are video visits available for blood work in Fairborn?

While a blood test cannot be performed over video, your doctor can both initially prescribe blood tests using telemedicine, and review results with you virtually.

  • How much does a blood test cost in Fairborn?

Without insurance, blood work typically costs between $50 to $1,000, or sometimes more depending on the specific tests and the provider type you are having the tests performed at. At-home tests are available in most areas and could cost substantially less. Book a consultation with a lab testing provider in Fairborn today to get more details on the specific blood work you are looking for.

  • How long do blood tests take?

Blood tests can be performed either in-office or performed on samples that are sent to an outside lab. The collection itself should only take a few minutes, and the results could be ready within a few hours or up to one to two weeks depending on the test you are getting done. Once you’ve received your results, your doctor can discuss them with you either in-person, on the phone, or through a video visit.

  • Is blood work covered by my insurance?

Most common blood tests are covered under insurance plans, particularly when your doctor orders them as part of an annual physical or supporting a diagnosis. If you are self prescribing the test, however, it may not be covered by insurance. If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, it is best to contact your carrier or your provider.
